Borghesia - Nocne Stenje

Recreation (Starring Lucas D'praser Corp), 2023

In the 1980s, Western subcultural motifs infiltrated Yugoslav media, evidenced in punk music videos visually and lyrically mirroring Western queer kink culture and acting as an archive of queer life/interest in Yugoslavia. I aimed to recreate 'Nocne Stenje' by BORGHESIA, intending to reverse the flow of influential queer preservation.

This is a frame-by-frame recreation of the original music video which features queer-coded imagery and survived the nationalised removal of querer histories in the post-Yugoslav region.
