Destined for Tragedy (Heal, 3/3), 2024

An archive of New Queer Cinema films made between 1985-2005, every scene is categorised into three themes; Poison, Self-destruction and Healing.

Heal represents the promise of healing within queer narratives. Often these are moments of enlightenment, friends coming together to help queer people, a route towards a better life (whether they end up taking it or not). This is the promise of a better future for queer people. 

Adrien Howells' work looked towards forms of queer healing, asking strangers to come for somewhat uncomfortable moments of queer touch and intimacy.
